What the Rain in Paris and London Taught Me About Life
When it comes to rain, appearances can be deceiving. Especially between these two European capitals.
Sorry for the late Substack today. I usually write at the end of the day, but I crashed after work. This week my sleep has been a bit rough with testing Alternate Day Fasting. I caught up with sleep. I am working on some longer pieces this weekend and excited to share them with you all soon.
Today's post explains why I decided to write daily. This has been an incredible journey of learning, thinking, and writing. I am grateful to have all of you with me on this quest for knowledge. Thank you for being part of it.
From Toronto with Love,

You might be surprised to learn that Paris actually receives more annual rainfall than London. Paris experiences occasional heavy downpours, while in London, it rains more often throughout the year.
This can make it seem like London has more rain, but actually, Paris gets more rain overall. London has the reputation of being a rainy city because it rains almost every few days, even if it's just a little bit. It's a recurring thing. This is kind of like how people perceive us.
Our habits, whether good or bad, shape the impressions others hold of us.
It's the consistent actions we take that leave a profound impact on those around us. Remember, small actions done regularly can have a much bigger impact on people than doing something big once in a while. Let's learn from London's rain and sprinkle a little bit of positive action every day to create lasting impressions.
Remember, in life as in weather, it's the pattern that matters most. What small, positive habits can you commit to today?
Cammi, one of my favorite things to do it treat those most see as invisible (the person at the checkout at the store, a drive through, etc.) special in some small way. Just yesterday this young (teen) waited on me at a drive through window. I noticed her finger nails looked like art work (not the first as I guess that is a thing) but these were beautiful. I just commented that I loved her nails and that they were beautiful. Her smile got so big and you could see her posture change as well as her attitude. I sometimes do that with a beautiful smile, or hair, etc. I try to find something with everyone and about 95% of the time I can tell it makes a difference to the one receiving the compliment. Cost nothing, easy, sincere and has amazing results. When these people see me the next time, they greet me with that same smile and positive attitude the next time. I love it. I have even made new acquaintances that way over time. It's a habit I would recommend.
Love this. “It's the consistent actions we take that leave a profound impact on those around us.” Never thought about it this way.
I am not very consistent, my mood and energy go up and down. I can’t do consistently ‘good’ for everyone I meet. But I can do it for a small circle of people I love.
