What if I told you that tomorrow isn't guaranteed, but today is a gift you're wasting?

Dear Unlearners,
Life is unpredictable, and tomorrow is never guaranteed. This truth hit me hard recently.
The other day, I called my good friend. We talked for an hour about her cancer journey. I was processing the news that my family member has cancer. It was really hard. That conversation helped me a lot more than I expected.
One thing she said stuck with me: "Cancer is no longer a death sentence." She had stage 4 cancer. Now she's cancer-free. So many people have fought it successfully. It gave me hope, but it also made me think.
She reminded me that we don't know when we're going to die. A car could hit us tomorrow. Or we could die in our sleep. The smartest kid in my year in high school passed away in his sleep. Nobody knew what was wrong. It shook us all.
These realizations made me think about how we often put things off.
We say "I'll do it tomorrow" or "When the time is right." But what if tomorrow never comes?
When you are young and healthy, travel the world. Do it before your knees give out. See the Northern Lights, walk the Great Wall, dive in the Great Barrier Reef. Don't wait.
When creativity strikes, put other things on hold. Let your inspiration flow. You don't know if it will come back again. Write that story, paint that canvas, compose that song. The laundry can wait.
When you're fit and energetic, try the sport you've always wanted to try. You don't know if you could tomorrow. Go skydiving, learn to surf, run that marathon. Your body is capable of amazing things. Use it.
When an opportunity pops up, say yes to spontaneous adventures. You don't know if you'll have a second opportunity. Take that road trip, go to that concert, join that competition. Life is in the unexpected moments.
When an idea sparks, write it down immediately. Don't let it slip away. That midnight epiphany could be your next big project or the solution you've been seeking.
When you're thinking of someone, tell them you love them. Often. Loudly. Clearly. Don't assume they know. Send that text, make that call, give that hug. Love expressed is never wasted.
When you have a bucket list item, start planning to cross it off. Don't wait for the "perfect" time. Perfect is the enemy of done. Start small if you need to, but start.
When you're unhappy in your job, make a change. Life's too short to spend most of your waking hours miserable. Update your resume, learn a new skill, start that side hustle. Your happiness matters.
When you're upset with someone you care about, address it. Don't let resentment build up over years. Have that difficult conversation. It's scary, but it's worth it.
When you're passionate about something, pursue it. Don't let others talk you out of your dreams. Your passion is your compass - follow it.
When you're tired, rest. It's okay to take breaks. Self-care isn't selfish, it's necessary.
When you make a mistake, forgive yourself. Learn from it, grow from it, but don't let it define you.
When you have a chance to live, don't wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow might never come.
Life is happening now. Don't postpone your joy, your creativity, or your adventures. Embrace the present moment, for it's the only one guaranteed.
Remember, every day you're living is a good day. Make it count.
Until tomorrow,
Cammi
